Water Marbling Technique – Ang May Art sounds very strange but is actually one of the oldest artists in the world. Water Marbling is a method of designing patterns on the surface of water to create works with textures similar to smooth marble using dyes, liquid solutions or watercolors with a paintbrush. The artist uses brushes to drop colors into the liquid and move gently to create drawings that spread like smoke. Patterns will be created when the ink color floats to the surface of the water.
The work is then carefully printed onto the surface of an absorbent material such as paper or fabric and dried. Over the centuries, people have applied waterprinting techniques to many different material surfaces.
